Where can I buy thick gauge pins for knife making?

B&Q do various thickness of brass rod. Look in the hardware isle. You'll also find brass tube there - good for lanyard holes.

Yeh b&q do them quite cheap in limited sizes , if you want different shapes and particular size try a model shop

Not every B&Q has a metals section anymore. The Hemel one does not, but those in Aylesbury, Watford and Northampton do. It used to be easier for me to go to a local model shop where I could get 1/8th inch brass rod, but since that shut it is actually more economical for me to mail order than drive to the nearest shop.

Their tube has a good wall thickness.

If your local hardware shop (if you have one) is a ToolBank stockist they should be able to order you silversteel rod in various diameters. And you can order the rods individually.

I can't believe you've bottled it with the loveless bolts mate , it really is simple as anything. You've got the bolts now, dont waste them. If your not going to use them, i'll take them off your hands (then i'll be paying P&P)

I haven't bottled it.

When I checked the bolts against the pre dilled messed up scales they weren't wide enough to mask the mistake I'd previously made.

So now I need to find the widest possible pins so I can re-drill the holes and hopefully remove the chips in the scales.

It should be noted that "silver steel" is not stainless. It is a carbon steel with a little chrome in it. It makes pretty good blades, but I would hesitate about it for handle pins simply because it can rust.
