Had a night out on saturday and we built a very comfortable 3 man shelter with stove, heres some pictures.

The plan was to build a two man Mors Kockanski style super shelter and a one man one, but it evolved when we couldn't find enough hazel to use as roof benders.
The latter photos were taken in the morning after we'd taken the tarp off, we had a roll up door made from a plastic and mylar sheet that you can't see in the pictures.
I know its not for the purist with a plastic roof but it was warm and dry and made a very comfortable base camp shelter.

Brilliant stuff. Did it take long to build?

About 8 hours, with few cups of tea and discussion time taken out probably 7 hours work. I'm sure if we'd had a plan then it would have been easier.

How were the beds as they seemed a bit thin on matress material?

The pine bowes were just to level them off , this wasn't a lightweight trip, I had a exped down mat on top!

As I said earlier it wasn't supposed to be like that but my mate Nick said that it reminded him of the tents in the programme 'yukon men'.
It dose have a northwoods vibe I think!
