Just up the pegs, if they’re like the bits of bent coat hanger that came with my Banshee they won’t hold a tent down on Lundy.
This ^^^^^^^^. and there have been several links to tents recently.

Why do tent manufacturers who design some superb and very expensive tents, supply such crap tent pegs.

Who uses them except for camping on the lawn in good weather.

I’m away from my camp kit just now but I’ll add a photo of the very wide range of pegs that I have tried over many years.

Six inches of bent wire is not among them.

Some years ago on a wet Easter camp the guys in the next tent didn’t stand a chance. The wire just spun in the mud and pulled out. It took a couple of minutes to take a hatchet to some of my fire wood and make some pegs with a decent grip.

So:
Does anyone use the bent wire pegs?
What have you found that works best in general? In mud? In rocky ground?

Is it worth contacting manufacturers on the subject? I think I’d rather buy a tent that was labelled “pegs not included” than add to the huge collection of meat skewers and bits of fencing wire in my cellar,
