Just been listening to sting on radio 2, he sounds just like Cliff Richards !

brought up on Tyneside as he proudly told Graham Norton.....

where did he get that fake mid-atlantic accent from ?

I think that accent comes free with the first twenty million dollar$, Robbi....................................They all seem to get it around the same time mate. :)

I went to the same teacher training college as Mr Sumner (a couple of years after him) and found a spectacular language barrier between me and the kids up there (my South Waliam accent got me nicknamed "Ivor the Engine" by the kids I taught:)). Maybe he found it difficult to communicate with the music execs...

That said, lurve the music.

How much time do you think he spends back in the north east?
I have a sister who lives near Brisbane and she only sounds Cumbrian if she spends some time back here talking to us.
