After five long months of snow on the ground, signs of spring are starting to appear. Besides the obvious signs, the woodland caribou www.hww.ca/hww2.asp?id=85 - are another sign that spring is on it's way.
This is the time that they start moving out of the bush and onto the lakes across the north for a welcome change of scenery.
Here they'll wander across the lakes to new areas, enjoying being out on the ice.
Now they like to feed close to shore, and bed down on the shoreline to soak up the sunshine.
Pawing for food
Milling about on the ice
And so the age old cycle continues....
