After the success of the culloden sporran, and having just made another for the same person, I decided to abandon the authenticity of the design and have some fun with the basic shape.
I did what a lot of people used to do (and still do today) and that is to decorate a basic item to my own taste.
Now I don't know if I can still call this a sporran, but it can certainly be called a possibles bag.
I got a whole stack of tanned snake skins off Ebay a few years ago from a bag maker who was getting some stick from the animal rights bunch - so I got it really cheap. Anyway, it's nearly all gone now - just a few scraps left and I thought I'd employ one of these scraps into this bag. The leather is goat - home tanned.
Here's a couple of photos.
I've done a spanish edge braiding round the flap and it is secured with an antler button at the front.
(It may well be up for sale soon on the makers' forum)
Thanks for looking,
Eric
