I have too many knives or would have snapped your hand off for some of these. They won't be about long!

I thought I had too many knives, then I saw A and B, then realised that I owed myself a 'Halloween present' (I can't quite get away with Xmas yet!).

Bohler Steel have a high reputation and profile in SA, and they do an excellent HT service too.

I travel to SA a great deal and know many makers there, and even the late, very great, Rob Brown would use N690.

Its comparison to 440C I think is perhaps misguided, in all tests it comes out similar to VG10

I meant chemically similar sorry not performance (although 440c can be very good also for the price) N690 is a high end austrian steel

- no probs at all :)

There's a very good vid on YouTube of a Todd Begg folder in N690 being put through its paces - fared better than I expected.

Like many steels, they can be made, or fail in proper use, if the HT'ing isn't done well/properly
