Having recently acquired a skrama, I wanted to test out it's carving abilities for general outdoors building projects, notches and so on. So, here is my attempt and making a try stick with it. Much like the skrama itself, it's not overly pretty, but intended to be functional.

Diameter reduction
Latch notch
Square notch
Pot hanger
Dovetail socket
Saddle notch
Bowstring notch

It also gets a pretty good spark from the ferro rod, and it does well enough with a piece of flint.

I've been wanting to practise joints and notches etc, so I thought I'd try and make a half decent dovetail joint with the skrama. The wood, I think, is eucalyptus which has been sitting in the van for about a year.

Got the rough shapes carved out and tidied up with the tip. I thought carving with the tip would be a right pain, but actually you can find a relatively comfortable grip to work with.

The fit is pretty good, just added a bit of lashing to keep everything together and it's a very solid little joint.
