i made my first sheath yesterday for my mora and it doesnt look to bad. the problem is that i think the leather was to thin for the job because my knife pearst the sheath when i put it in. can any one help me please, i need to know what kind of leather is good to use also where can i get it. many thanx

3mm veg tan. Recommended for leather is le Prevo. They give a reliable service.
As Singtek has advised - learn how to make a welt in your pattern. It helps prevent the blade from cutting through the leather, and also saves the stitching from getting cut.

Thanks for that. I have a cheap, and I do mean cheap chinki knife that I bought too many years ago when I was 15-16. Over the many years with less than good care the sheaf has rotted and it's rivets corroded. I either need to replace the sheaf or the combo. I've put a cheap bid on ebay on a stunning blade, I'll be shocked if I win. But if I don't I'll be buying stuff to make a sheaf. That cheap knife has some sentimental value and is still sound.
