Sheath for this knife

Since I've just finally found a use for a Puma White Hunter (talk about drawer queen; 15+ years of no use, but it turns out to be excellent for skinning moose) I want to make a new sheet for it. The original has pretty much the same style strap, and unless you use two hands it is easy to cut the strap when sheeting/unsheeting the knife. Suggestions?

Allways an option , I was kind of fishing for neater ideas, not generally being much of a "knife-with-crossguards" fan or user.

Kydex might be an option, but I was hoping for a good leather pattern.

Thank you for the comment on the stitching , all done by hand. As to the strap ( i always try to help) it was done to the customer spec .
