Last weekend I went for a walk in my local woods. I took my camera (Nikon D90) and my trusty Beston MC Auto Zoom/Macro 1:3.5-4.8 35-200mm (that's the 35mm measurements) on a Pentax K to Nikon F mount (the lens is 25-30 years old or so), went fully manual, and tried to get some macro shots of seasonal flowers. The pictures are slightly post processed in Gimp (only WB, colours, sharpness, noise)

Any ID would be highly appreciated! I wonder if all these flowers would make yummy seasonal honey or are edible in their own right?

Note: all of the identifications are by the other contributors in this thread, I only amended them to the pictures afterwards.

Hope you like it!

Cheers

Not entirely confident with my plants, but...

1. St John's wort
2. Scentless mayweed
3. Mint
4. Orange hawkbit
5.
6.
7.
8. Honeysuckle
9.
10.
11. Herb Robert
12. Mullein

Not necessarily confident about those answers. Other people will have more idea.

Nice pics.

No.5 might be Golden Rod, how tall was it ? and what shape were the leaves ? Lady's bedstraw and Mignionette are mostly bye now. Though I still have Weld flowering (reseda luteola)

I'd bet money on no. 5 being golden rod.

10. looks like a member of the mint family with the flowers gone over - I'd guess at a peppermint from the colour but could be many types

Thanks :)

Wow I didn't think flower identification could be so much fun and exciting :)

I looked up golden rod images and it looks as if it is that plant. I'll also amend 10.

3 looks much more like wild marjoram / oregano, quite common round here (what did it smell like?)

6 looks like honesty, usually flowers in spring but it can flower now.

Thanks slowworm. I didn't smell it unfortunately, but I'll amend it.

I also amend six, looks about right from the pics of the net.
