Had a wee leisurely Sea Kayak around the Clyde Gareloch today. Launched in Helensburgh and crossed over to the Green isle, near the Nuke Sub de-gousing station. Crystal clear water here with an abundance of Mussells.
The sea was calm but the tide rips through some bays and the MOD Tug wake gave some surf sport. The Minesweeper sneaked up and we raced it to the Spit, they could have called us to stop as it's Queen's Harbourmaster controlled all around here.
Kit on the deck elastics, drank 500ml in 2 hours paddling, hot work in the sun
Glassy calm off Helensburgh
Glassy calm in the lee of the shore
Very clean crytsal clear water off the de-gousing station
Leg stretch, just west of here you can spot Dolphins in June-August regularly, none today though.
Passing Rosneath Caravan Park
An Ex-Americas Cup Yacht in Rhu
Only 75m from the sea to relatives and a fresh cuppa. Then a Lido Pizza, lovely take away thin based pizzas. All in all a nice 2hrs and 4.65miles.
