Today's came with the following information

"The Jubilee People's Millions
To mark the Queen's diamond Jubilee in 2012, the Big Lottery Fund has re-branded the People's Millions fund as the Jubilee People's Millions. The scheme is for projects that will improve local places and the lives of local people. You can apply for up to £60,000 of funding. One of our friends helped with the project to get the funding for the play park in Kyle. It's a great fund but requires a lot of work and publicity. I think match funding is required too.

The match funding is a pain, especially in this economic climate.
It's fine if they're happy to accept a 'valued' resource, such as a piece of land as the match though. Crown Estates are quite good at allowing leases and giving a value to those. SNH used to be very good at bringing in other funding providers to bring the match funding up to parr, and accepting work done, especially public information/education, as a value.

It seemed a good idea. Oh well

Sorry Mary, I didn't mean to be a wet blanket.

If someone has an idea for a community bushy project I'm sure there'd be enough clout on this site to make it happen. Assets as a matched fund does seem to work well in some cases.

I wonder if anyone on here has a project in mind?
