Samoens, French Alps

Took a trip to Samoens in the French Alps this summer - got some great opportunities for shots.

Pretty new to SLR, but improving all the time.

Shame about the ladder propped against the house - will try and clone it out at some point

Pano taken at 2600m / 8500 feet - taken handheld and stitched in CS3
Unfortunately I came back down without my compact, thanks to a defective pair of Craghoppers.

Sundial? You've lost me.

Went to Chamonix for the day, went up the Mer De Glace on the rack railway.

Can't wait to go back in the winter.

Sundials

A lot of older and high alpine hamlets and villages have sundials on every outside house wall, none in Samoens then ? Allegedly La Chappelle D'Abondance, near Samoens is worth a visit ?

Me and my brother are off to the french alps in June to do some trekking, are there many bushcraft possibilities there? Are you allowed in to the mountain forests ???

You are allowed to camp out high up but avoid National Parks or reverves eg Aigulles Rouges as you are not allowed to camp there. Fires are the main thing to avoid as they will normally be banned and will probably get you arrested.
