Just been doing a bit of fiddling, trying to find a way of keeping small amount of salt pepper and Herbs safe and dry in the rucksack for days and nights out...

And came up with this,

A simple bit of seasoning, dash of paprika or some fajita seasoning makes a huge difference.

I think I have worked out how you have made the containers, although I wonder what adhesive you used to join the twonecks to each other? But what did you use for the shaker inserts in the top? A tutorial fo these would be much appreciated.

One I saw recently was a short length of bamboo with salt and pepper in it held in place by corks.

I have used these for geocaching, i have used these as is and also modded the idea with magnets for magnetic caches.

I glued the two haves together, to make a tube, turned it on end on a bit if card, driped adhesive into the bottom, left to set, then rubed the end down, drilled holes in the end for the shaker,

So i could undo the bottom for refiling, and use the other top as a top...

I did think about putting a bit of plastic between the two, so to have a salt and pepper combo. But liked the idea of each shaker having lids to stop spilage.

Pop in to your local camera store and ask for empty 35ml film canisters, perfect size for your herbs and salt etc.
