Just heard on the news that the consultation on the sale of wooldand is to be suspended and that sales are unlikely to go ahead following the half a million signatures on the petition against it

It's good to hear, But i can't help being slightly skeptical. What's to say they won't let the furore die down, then flog it all off anyway.
It looks like the iminent mass sale of woodland is indeed called off... for now. But - the BBC news website says that the government can sell off 15% of woodland every year during its time in power.
