Here's my first stab ( ) at a scandinavian/ stick tang.

Birch handle, leather, red fiber, leather spacers and reindeer horn bolster. Just brushed with boiled linseed oil a few times and buffed up a bit.

Its taken me an age to put this together, I can't even remember when I got the blade (early last year some time :ashamed01 ).

For a beginner it probably wasn't the easiest blade to handle as the tang is thicker than the blade and it was a real job of work to thin it down a little so I could get a reasonable fit on the bolster.

The blade, which is über sharp, is slightly hollow ground and it meant that no matter how hard I tried I couldn't do anything about the gap when the bolster was fitted (see bottom left pic).

As always comments and criticisms very welcome.

Thanks for looking :love28:

That's a nice job. You can grind down the tang so it tapers the same as the blade to get a super close fit but I say leave it alone and keep the strength in the tang. Epoxy doesn't tend to show up too much on antler anyway.
