Handmade by third-generation master blacksmith, Shosui Takeda, this hand forged Te Ono Axe is incredible to work with. With an HRC hardness of 63–64 the edge retention of Takeda-san’s blades is unbelievable. His initials and the type of steel is carved into the axe head. The handle is American oak, which could use a bit of sanding. You're going to want to hammer in a new handle wedge (shim) to ensure it's snug. I had taken it out for ease of packing but seem to have lost the wedge. The axe did not come with a sheath so I had a friend make the leather one for this axe, and it is included in this sale.
