Posting an air rifle

Is this possible

i have one for sale in the classifieds and have potentially sold it but the couriers i have looked at list it as a prohibited item.

can it be posted without breaking the law?

any help much appreciated

It's not against the law to mail an air rifle so long as it's a legal gun.

However a number of couriers have decided not to allow their customers to use them if it's an air rifle or gun parts. I believe the Royal mail are going down this route as well.

use royal mail, they legally have to ship 'sporting goods' and a rifle will fall into that catagory. They tried to prevent the posting of guns and parts a while back but I don't think it got passed, or it hasn't yet. The shooting community fought back like they did the past two times royal fail tried to throw a hissy fit!

best way to ship it is to take the action from the stock so it packs smaller, that way it won't get opened by the pretend police they hire to check the 'suspicious' packages.
