Im trying to resist buying stuff but I had to get this axe

They bodged the hang in more ways than the poor fit. It's also the wrong handle for that axe. But as BR says, it'll come back nicely with a bit of TLC.

After some work it will be a good axe.
I picked up a plumb camper axe at a not market recently that lookes unused, all I did was carve a new elm handle as the original was too slim for my hands.

I doubt the eye is that small mate, rather its just the pick axe handle making it look that way

the head will be good steel, a new haft is an easy and cheap fix...good project too if you've not done it before

If it's a plumb axe the eye will be fine it's only the lump of wood attached that makes it look weird. I recently got hold of a take down axe by Olive, now that has a small eye indeed but It's good to go for a small camp axe, I Keep meaning to post some pictures up of my latest market buys.

A fine buy Tengu. That head will clean up very nicely. Plumb made a very good axe.
