SWMBO got up at the crack of dawn to go to the gym, meanwhile berating my laziness - so I chucked my camera into its bag and headed for a stream in a local wood that is full of ramsons at this time of year. Not a soul about - which was quite a surprise as it wasn't that early and the stream is just off the Cotswold Way.
The stream runs down a NW facing slope and the early morning light made exposure a nightmare
Some of the ramson leaves were already yellowing:
Pity my camera couldn't capture the smell!
Finally, got these caught in a shaft of sunlight in a darker part of the wood:
I also saw a young roe deer stag that stopped and stared at me for ages - until, that is, I reached for my camera and scared it off - hence: no deer photo... Maybe next time.
Got back to a bacon and mushroom sarnie for breakfast - with the mushrooms cooked in ramson butter - magic!
