Got a tee shirt which I want to fix, I gotta reinforce the seams at a couple of points. If I use leather to fix it ,what will it be like when I wash it?

Crome tanned might go a little stiff, Veg tan is very likely to go stiff, Chamois won't.

Its ventile and ripped near a pocket, a nice little leather patch both sides in the same place might not look odd and yet will still cover my sewing
.I have also managed to pullout an eyelet on the waist drawstring and I figured that a bit of leather will prevent the toggle from pulling through again, even without an eyelet.
I have a fair bit of leather thonging. Does that count?
