Hi what do you think is the best way to store Paracord/550 cord, for instant use.

i tend to find my cord is usually in a bit of a tangle or so neatly tied i don't want to use it.

what do you do?

I picked up a tip from one of RM's programmes where you hank it in a figure 8 around your thumb & little finger across your palm, then just a few wraps around the middle of the hank to hold it together tied off with an overhand knot.

Seems to work well, without getting tangled.

I hope you can follow my description.

For instant use I think a "chain sinnet" is hard to beat. No tangles.

This is very simple to do but like alot of ropework is tedious to read about. Cord, rope, electrical extension cords, etc, can be stowed rapidly, are instantly accessible and you can do it in total darkness and with one hand, with very little practice. Double up or quadruple the cord for really long pieces or to have a shorter finished chain. The finished chain can be stuffed into a pocket without fear of tangle. A para-cord bracelet done up with a chain sinnet lets you get at the cord very quickly.
