Eventually got round to setting up in a wee local spot Barn owl and myself had chosen to be our own bolthole. We arrived on Sunday which had been raining and stayed till Tuesday ,the rest of the time the weather was great and not a midge in site yet! We had an absolutely relaxing time with good food,plenty of tea and guid crack.Cant wait till the next time cheers buddy.

There are others with the compass and ladders,i'm no member nor have i wished to be but i do know a wee bit about them,it's covenanter territory around here too

Interesting history then.

a few miles up river are the first cup and ring carvings to be found on the vertical plane as opposed to the horizontal, if my memory serves.
it's also legend that this area is of 'old king cole' (coyle) and of course it's rabbie burns' haunt.
