Opinel patina

Just had a few days in Paris, and no trip to France is complete with out picking up an Opinel. Got an number 8 with beech handle for euro 7.50.

To really make it my own thought I'd try my hand at forced patina. first time I've tried it. prefer the side with the opinel stamp on. but not bad for a first attempot and certainly not a bank buster

Britannia!
I find mustard gives a controlled and artisitic patina, something vinegar doesn't! yours looks great mate! should have bought a few ;)

totumpole, to get a patina on the trail hawk try a full submersion in vinegar for several hours! letting it air out for an hour every couple of hours to let it set in better.

or try polishing off the forging marks, it'll patina very nicely then!
