Was asked to make a spoon for getting olives out of the jar as a gift for someone. It had to have an angled bowl and holes in the bottom to allow drainage. I found a bit of dried ash in the wood pile and there was a burl at one end. Twas tough to carve, but I am quite pleased with the outcome..

Started with this...

Nice job. You have done well there, the burls make it unpredictable and ash is tough to carve at the best of times. How did you pierce the holes, you got them nice and evenly spaced? Did you use a hook to do the bowl?
Cheers Jonathan :)

Cheers guys...Made four holes in a diamond shape, put pencil dots on the bowl before drilling to get right. Drilled holes with mr makita. I did use a hook knife to carve the bowl..
