I'm having an enormous clear out, in amongst a pile of 300+ books that are finding new homes is one with the above title. Full of stunning aerial photos it says it, "Features aerial photo-maps and landscapes covering the walks from Knighton to Chepstow and Monmouth to Hereford, A bird's eye view of Offa's dyke , etc....."
Paper back, 14 x 28.5 cms....anybody want it? It's not a lot of use to me in W. Central Scotland, interesting though it is.

Cheers,
Toddy

Hi, Toddy.

Strewth, if youre ridding yourself of 300 (that right?) books, thats gonna leave you with the good stuff, eh, how many?

Must be a good whack of rain forest youve got there.

:o I know, I know. The only rooms in the house that don't have bookcases are the bathroom and the downstairs loo  and every bookcase is overflowing. My house has haemorrhoids....it's got piles everywhere :D

We've been married for 27 years and we're all packrats; I'm drowning in *stuff* so the charity shops are getting an inundation. Most of the books going out are novels and old textbooks, but I think it's time to clear out old maps next, I've already dumped four old rucksacks and eight pairs of hiking boots; it's ridiculous the amount of stuff we've ended up hoarding. I got rid of three canoes last week so that's cleared the garage a bit too.

Anybody want that one man tent from Argos that was so waterproof that it runs with condensation....might do for kids playing in the garden.

Cheers,
Toddy

Oh good, but how old ? ......these are from after WW2 and in shillings and pence and half inches to miles sort of old maps. Not *special* maps.
If you want them though I'll be delighted to post them to you.

Cheers,
Toddy

You'll love this book then, it's full of aerial photographs of the Wye Valley. Chuffed it's going somewhere useful :D
Cheers,

That brings back memories, my first long distance walk was Offa's Dyke when I was 16 or so, there were 4 of us, we carried too much gear, got drunk quite a lot, argued a lot, split up frequently to take different routes or walk at different speeds, we had nights in ditches and one of the group even got put up for a night in a police station, some nights we didnt stop at all, it was pretty grim really but funny looking back, the most arguments within the group were between me and one other guy, we are the only two still in frequent contact despite the fact that he now lives in Canada and the two of us have had many climbs/walks/adventures together since and long may we continue to do so :D
