well at the gathering i got a chance to actually use some of my new shallow spoon knifes anf had some suprising results
Like you can carge a whole spoon with it so no need for a whittleing knife just split of your blank an of you go
and found out it could bore deep and narrow holes
so Got back and tryed a Shot glass as my crystal ones are fine for the Port but a little fragile and not Bushy
so here you go
Bar sawing to length all done with the one knife (no drilling) in Rowan that has been cut a few months ago
holds approx 35ml hole is 35mm dia and 45mm deep
dunno if it will crack etc and i might beeswax the insides but it dosnt take long to make one for a weekend
of course you could use it as an egg cup ..........
another happy customer i found at the WG who had been boring out a hole with a std hook all day
this is a stilton Scoop i did as well at the WG and bar splitting the log in half its entierly carved with a shallow hook spoon knife still a bit ruff Havent got to finishing, Didnt use it for the stilton in the end as it had a bit of spalting fungus in it
