I recently purchased a chinese copy of the Maxpedition Colossus from e-bay. I'd seen quite a bit of recommendations for the maxpedition haversack type bag and I thought I'd try one. I found it searching for Molle Pouches but when I bought it I didn't realise it was a knock off. The cost £21 incl postage and here it is from left to right

The inside of the bag is like this empty

and like this full of a day with water

I added some extra elastic bungees on the bottom and front

Inside the outer lid pouch theres room for first aid kit and elastic webbing for, in this case my torch
The front pouch has lots of room for brew kit and firestarter kit
Inside various pouches to separate your kit
Theres a further slimline pouch at the front

As you can see I have my bino's attached in this case using grimlocks
And heres all the kit I have on a normal outing

The bag was sold as 1000D but it's more like 600D. The stitching is fine all round I guess time will tell. My plan was to put ready use kit in the bag when wearing a rucksack, camera, notepad and ready use kit. However as you can see theres room for a lot of kit. I do intend to add to it with this pouch for a water bottle and purifier, again it's a maxpedition knock off.

In use it's comfortable the padded strap seems to slip off the shoulder but the 2'' webbing sits nicely and comfortably. The pouch sits nicely on my bottom and even when going up hill it wasn't a problem. The better part was that my back wasn't so sweaty. The colossus and the second pouch will cost approx £30 incl postage whereas the same maxpedition kit is priced at £130 plus postage. Time will tell if it's worth it but it's a nice rig.

WOW! Impressive review , well done you. What is the stitching like? Holding at this stage no doubt , but any 'Irish Threads'?? Loose threads etc

Can i ask you which E-bay seller you got this from please. PM if required. Seems ot be quite a difference in quality between the Far East replicas.

Again, Top review , Thank You.

I got it from this guy on e-bay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Multi-Purpose...ultDomain_0?hash=item4ced9712dc#ht_3545wt_941

he has it in a few different colours/camo patterns although not black anymore. I bought it in black as i intend to us it occasionally as a camera bag. There is another seller here but note he's on holiday until 23 Feb.

By the term 'Irish threads' I take it you mean 'Irish Pennants' which offends me greatly as a Belfast man, lol:lmao:

No there are no Irish pennants on the stitching on mine and it seems pretty robust as do the zips. I think it's a pretty good bag is adapatable and so far worth the money I spent on it. I'm waiting on the other pouch to arrive this week in that I'll fit my Alpkit titanium mug and 1L playtpus bag with my water purifier and mug lid in the outer pouch. I'll update this and let you know if you're interested.

Just a quick one whilst I remember, the first guy say's it's in Australia but it's actually shipped from HK. Oh and I'm affiliated to neither seller.
