Hey everyone. New to this forum and really happy to be here. Got into knife collecting recently, went to a few conventions and now I'm hooked! I've always been a nature lover and I have some very basic blacksmithing experience from Japan. Hoping to create some really cool knives one day!

I am very much into thick stock knives (I'm a big guy).

Yes, there are quite a few magpies here, but others would have you know in no uncertain terms that they do not “collect”…they have merely accumulated! I count myself as a non-collector who has an accumulation.

I am curious where you went for “conventions”? There aren’t that many shows in the UK and diving in on overseas stuff is expensive, I went to the Blade Show in Atlanta last June and don’t like to think what it cost just to go and visit for a long weekend!

Let's see now... Three on my person as I write - five if you're counting blades because they include a Leatherman Charge Tti and a Victorinox Officier Suisse; three more within easy reach (one's a Gerber multi-tool, so that's really four blades); and two work-horse types by the wood-burner, both by makers here. That's without looking in any drawers or cupboards, or going anywhere near SWMBO's kit, which would offer at least twice as many blades in the same space and probably twenty or thirty in her little chest of drawers by the bed.
