Modified cheap canvas bag

This was just for a bit of fun. Bought an old Yugoslav shoulder bag like this for a tenner.

Dyed the straps and added a few bits of leather and a nylon liner with zip pocket.

Side/bottom piece of leather also doubles as a pocket and has slots for a strap to pass through to secure bits under the bag

The pack is remarkably useable as it is (i used it as my pack for the hunter gatherer challenge couple yrs back) but that looks darn tasty

Good idea with the zip, I might do that with mine. The pocket that is already there is a bit crap.

excellent work there. i have been planning something similar myself and it's good to see your efforts. i wax one of these bags for my brother, after playing with it for a few minutes i decided the standard buckles were not at all user friendly. when i get around to doing myn i will make it so i can attach it to my swedish m39 rucksack with a molle style system using leather. also i will make the fold out pocket removable so i can use it on a belt or other bags.

I have one more bag planned at the moment, just waiting for a few bits from Ebay. I want to take this one up a level, try and make it sale able quality (even though it will probably not be sold)

I really need to rest my hands, the gout/arthritis in the is playing up at the moment. The next bag I do will have more machine stitching in it and less hand stitching. I am limiting my hand stitching to things like belts and dump pouches at the moment.
