Hi All.

Does anyone have any experience of growing these lovely flowers?

I want to try and get some going for the farm next year and am looking for a hints, tips, sources of seeds etc...

darn, why didn't i think of doing a web search!

funnily enough it was the display these guys had at Gardening Scotland that has begun my new obsession.

I'd still like to hear of the trials and tribulations that amateurs have had though...

The road out to my folks in Cumbria is lined with them for half a mile or so. If I'm passing at the right time I'll grab you some seed pods.

We spread some in the garden ten years ago and they're all gone now. My mum has a thing for poppies, they're everywhere, weeds really. Over the years so many types have been added that they've all cross pollenated to the point where all there are are a couple of types that aren't much like any of the ones that were put in.

The wee blue ones only lasted five years or so. They seem to have merged with the little orange petaled variety and the orange ones won out. They're still going strong at that stretch of roadside though.
