Mattress help!

Well my canvas bedroll is just about sewn up. And I need a mattress. I was thinking about 3" foam but it is really expensive. Is there a natural alternative? Or does anyone know where I could source some foam on the cheap?

They're thick and heavy but really comfy and great if you're car camping

I got a Polish Army mat - looks identical to the Russian one Mesquite posted above - from military Mart - cost 12quid. Thick, heavy, waterproof base. Nearly as good as an airbed for comfort, but won't puncture!

millitary mart have a Czech army 3 piece bedroll on ebay for a tenner. 18 currently available. But just realised you need a matress....
