I took my family out for a quick bite to eat, to offer some variation to the traditional Easter diet. The venue was a smallish hill some 20 minutes away using snow mobiles.

The absence of sun was commented on by all the invited critics

The menu consisting of Gourpi (Lightly smoked renideer mince meat packed in (struggling for words here) the fatty liner of the reindeer stomach...) and sausages in many variations got a great reception

After an hour or so, my better half started to suffer from frozen-wife-syndrome, and we subsequently made our way home

...but seriuosly....we had a great time. Short and sweet.

Ahhh...advanced....Nice! Thx!

For the most part, snow is somewhat of a nuisance. As soon as you are done shovelling the small drive way, you can be pretty certain that the plow man will fill it up once more. This year excessive downpour of snow broke a part of my roof....

But.

Then there is spring. Happy times! :)

As for the pic....we do have issues with the camera both me and the missus....it tends to add 15 kg, a serious drop in IQ and generally a bad attitude.....even if we are smiling....***?!

The menu was identical to yesterdays, but nobody did mind. Fuel for the skiing folk.

My father in law handed me this fixer-upper (Norma 16), but I don't really know what it is

The Norma is a nice stove, burns alcohol same as you would use in your Trangia. Fill the tank with fuel, check its not leaking. If no leaks then open the control valve and let some fuel run into the tray which should found fixed under the burner. Shut down the fuel fuel supply and light the fuel in the burner tray, when almost used up open the control valve and your stove should light up. Do this outdoors.

These stoves like those made by Turm were domestic cookers and used indoors.

I like you No8 stove, perfect for making small meals or lots of coffee.

Thanks a bunch!

The 8R is my favourite...

I did some field testing with the Norma when i got home. With no leaks I fired it up. I had to add alcohol from the bottle as opening the control valve did nothing.

After some pre-heating, the old bugger came to life.

There was a green, aurora borealis like thing going on, but it generated heat. Compared to roarers like my 8R and Nova+, this was dead silent. Efficiency wise i think it is on par with an ordinary Trangia burner.
