Was in cotswolds yesterday, and picked up a Coghlans trowel to replace my old stainless steel trowel. The Coghlans one was £2.5, and weighs 50g on my scales, vs 190g for the old steel version. A cheap, simple way of shedding some weight off my pack. The 140g saved is ⅔rds of the weight of my new 198g tarp...

Sure there are lighter, shinier, titanium options out there, but they are considerably more expensive - $29.

Nice to see that grams can be shed without also shedding them from my purse...

The titanium versions are tiny, but if you want a really light cheap one, cut yourself one from aluminium. Light cheap and easy to cut with a hacksaw.

other options are rubble sacks or bags for life make excellent kit bags,
