Lopham Coppicing Jan 2010

Me and my younger son again visited Lopham fen to see the coppice work underway. It was very foggy and very smoky.....
On the way there, a close up of one of the pollarded willows we saw on sunday

And another. I always think pollard trees are like a metaphor for the energy of youth combined with the stability of age and experience.......
