Looking for paddle advice or site pointers.

Hello chaps, looking for advice or pointers to good sites regarding making my own canoe paddle, don't own a canoe but will very soon have access to one, so thought it best I make my own gear in readiness. looking for dimension of the beaver tail, otter tail and sugar island style blades shown here from the left to the right.(the far right being child's sugar island)

Will be making solid rather than ply, is there a formulae for working out handle length based on height?

Any help or advice is greatly received.
