Travelling through Eccleshall/Staffordshire today I went past the Izaak Walton Museum, I have visited it some time ago so thought I would post it for the fisher men/women on the forum. Izaak Walton is well known for the book The Compleat Angler, the 16[SUP]th[/SUP] century cottage where he once lived is now a museum dedicated to him and fishing. There is a display of various old fishing tackle and it is furnished with period items. Growing up in the era of Dick Walker & Fred Taylor I enjoyed my visit but it was some time ago. It’s free entry but has very limited opening times so advisable to check beforehand to avoid disappointment. Open sunday afternoons only May-August.
