Came out pretty aimless....I ended up in Bigbury On Sea.
There is a good `campsite` on Mount Folly, just before the big stone village sign. Very cheap, toilets and showers and hookups.
They allow open fires but bring own wood and use existing firescars.

Very quiet area, nice beaches, surfing and lots of great walks. its on the `yet-another-river-called-the-avon` esturary, lots of canoe opportunities and wildlife. Saw some egrets.
Be careful on the roads, they are typical Devon sunken tracks.
There is a great chippy in Challaborough (over the hill) and nice ice cream.
Be sure to remember me to the lady in the shop in Bigbury itself; She cooked me the most fantastic scones ever for my cream tea.
Burgh island with its Sea Tractor is interesting...another thing to see is the tidal road at the other end of the Avon Esturary.
