So it all began with and idea that I need to post new videos on my youtube channel, I won't be able to go in the mountains until summer and I need to find a new place near my city to shoot some videos . So all of my ideas went straight to a place called Turtle Lake , it is on a mountain next to the main street of the capital , about 3-4 km from it. I went to google maps and draw my map , to see what trail goes where. I chose mine , geared up , got ready and on monday morning at 6am I was there starting my trip. Few words about what I have with me , overall my pack was 15kg , I had my new Husqvarna hatchet , my new Cudeman knife , takedown bucksaw made by me , with a bahco 21inch green wood blade , US mil. su. cup and mess kit , opinel N8 carbon and some other small stuff ( I will post all pictures on the bottom )
I walked about 3 hours and I reached the top of the mountain behind the one that is next to the city , I was disapointed , so much walk and didn't even seen a nice spot so I kept going , another 2 hours passed and I reached a small water supplier building or what ever it's called :) there was one guy who couldn't believe his eyes , someone in camo clothing coming out from the woods :)
There were 3 trails from there I asked which one was going where , I liked the one which was the most dark and stiff and walked there, after about 1 hour I was really tired , my feet hurt very much and I look on the right and what I see a pine wood forest , at that moment I was the heppiest guy in the world (Pine and spruce forests feel like home to me) it was a beautifull place with plenty of dead standing woods , so I made a fire , made a soup , ate some canned sardines in tomato sauce , had a cup of tea with chocolate , sat down for 10-20 minutes enjoyed the nature and went back home.
It took me 4 hours to go back at the point where I started , I was so tired that when I arrived home at 7 or 8 pm I can't even remember I slept on the couch , my mother woke me up at 12 , told me to go to bed , I went to bed and slept until 11am .
I woke up in the morning with bubbles on my feet , it hurts really hard , it was the leather boots falt , as I remember myself , since I was 11 I wore leather boots for hunting but such bad thing didn't ever happen to my feet. Looks like I need to find myself a new pair of hiking boots.
So that was all thank you for taking your time and reading my report , overall it caused me really big pain , I can't walk properly the whole day :D but it was a good trip I would go again , now I have a place to shoot vids , not very close though :)
Here are some pics:

Oh and last but not least , on my way back I took a "shortcut" which was going through tight woods and something hang on my new axe and the sheath came of :( I lost my sheath 500 meteres away from where the car was waiting for me , looking for it was unposible going up high on that stiff mountain after 10 hours of walking , in those tight trees it was imppsible , so I walked home with an exposed axe without a sheath. Any ideas what can I use as a sheath ? I don't have leather to make a new one.

Good job GccKoka, nice photos. Looks like an excellent place for bushcrafting, around where you live. ;)

You could always try making a sheath, by using, birch tar, birch bark, and birch wood. Cut out stencils from card first.

Looks like I forgot to mention that :)
It is a tower where people of area called svaneti lived and still live.
"Encircled by peaks of up to 5,000 meters, Svaneti is the highest area in the Caucasus mountain system which people have settled. In a land dominated by mountains divided by deep gorges, the Svan people settled this historic Georgian province almost two millennia ago and here they flourished.

Yet towards the end of the European Dark Ages, at around the end of the ninth century, the Svan found themselves in conflict with the northern Caucasian tribes on the other side of the mountains and with the Ossetians to the east. Their solution to tribal raids has endured the centuries.
The Svan built themselves towers. Although their relationship with the surrounding tribes was often peaceful, when times were hard all truces and trading agreements were subject to violation by people desperate for food and other materials. Yet rather than create complete circles of fortifications around their villages, the Svan opted to create almost impregnable towers on a family by family basis – and a family could often consist of up to a hundred people.
Why this particular form of protection was chosen was due to the blood feuds which were rife between Svan extended families. These feuds could often persist for generations until the reasons why they had begun in the first place became shrouded in local folklore. As well as protecting themselves from strangers, the Svan were also ensuring that they were as safe as they possibly could be from their neighbors too."

Nice one. Cheers. You have amazing wilderness surrounding you in Tbilisi. Georgia in general I can imagine is beautiful wilderness with the Caucasian Mountains.

Interesting looking Fungi. Definitely looks like a member of the Ascomycota phyllum of fungi... from the look in the Photo I thought a member of the Pezizaceae family, but they mostly grow on soil and leaf litter, so maybe not. Cool photo.
