I just wish I could get to an Ikea store without it costing me half a day and £20 worth of fuel :-(. Those look as if they'd be ideal for the taller Tatonka burner, and I've yet to find a good holder for that.

Great idea! Love hacking IKEA stuff. Whenever I see someone taking picture of a kettle it reminds me of this...:)

I was messing about with a standard Trangia bnr and a drainer a few years ago. I had the drainer inverted over the bnr and the burn really took off. You wouldn't normally expect a Trangia bnr to get SS glowing red. The burn time, however, was reduced by about half. I think it does this because as the drainer gets hotter, so does the burner which in turn vapourises more fuel, which burns and gets the drainer hotter...

Apparently good for burning wooden cat litter pellets in. I'll try when I eventually get out and about, although there are vids on YouTube. If they're different sizes maybe use one inside the other to restrict airflow?
