I found this jaw bone yesterday whilst out waking , can anyone Id it for me ? It appears carnivorous from its teeth but other than that I'm flumaxed ! It's about four inches in length .

Four inches overall or a four inch lower jaw? Either way it's not a big pike. Any ospreys on the Esk? Otter or mink would be another possibly culprit, more likely mink if it's more than a short way from the river.

Scavengers normally run away with their prize.
They want to eat in peace and they're in no mood to share.
My cat has stolen a couple of shrimp, usually consumed under the bed.
