I have not long put in some winter spuds and they have germinated and sprouted nicely.

My question is this:

Is it best to bank them up continually now that they are growing or do you still wait for them to flower?

If I was growing them in a tub then I could add soil as they grow; as they are in a raised bed then I have to bank them but when is best?

Thanks in anticipation!

I saw Monty Don on Gardeners World do an experiment comparing earthing up with just chucking then into a raised bed. He didn't see much difference in yealds between the 2. More earth would give better frost protection later in the year though so I'd be tempted to bank it up around the plants.
