"Budge" Crawley was an extraordinary Canadian film maker. You find anything that he and/or his wife have filmed, watch it.
Nice to see the many applications using the eastern native style "Mocotaugan" crooked knife, almost a 1-handed draw knife.

I've seen recent video of birchbark canoe making, can't believe there are many left, sure don't see young people doing any of the work.
Last I heard, you can buy a finished one for $6,000.00 or so. A restored 21' Chestnut freighter V-stern is about the same.

Amazing skills, made look easy by the years of experience.

If I was only allowed one , just one bushcraft experience ... this would be it.

Learn how to make a traditional birch bark canoe and paddles in the woods ...

Then take it out for a paddle and maybe do some hunting and fishing too...
