Horse vs Gator (WARNING!!! Animal Violence)

In Africa, the equines are a little smaller and the crocodilians can be a lot bigger - this was the rather grisly outcome of a similar confrontation I witnessed in Kenya a few years ago!

Horse protecting it's family from a perceived threat, glad to see a few jabs were enough to send the Gator away and neither were fataly injured.
I feel sorry for the gator, minding its own bussiness in the sun, and that nasty visious hourse coming and attacing it!
Just another reminder. From Hippos to horses, the most dangerous and unpredictable animals are the big herbivores.
Somewhere there's a clip of an African croc chomping on some sort of swimming gazelle.

Horses can be very brave/stupid and protective of their herd. Many dogs have lost their lives to horses (or Moose), and snakes live dangerously around horses. Back in the days, a brave stallion would also take on a bear that would get too close to his herd.
This is the first time I've seen them take on an Alligator though.

Either way it seems the horse got a bit lucky there on the last strike... If gator had managed a bite ,that would have been a horrible outcome.....
It's amazing that he was not scared of it and just chased it off ....
