Nearly trod on this little chap who was virtually on our doorstep:

Didn't want to let go of my finger but we've put him in a makeshift nest that our daughter made at school. Anyone know what it is & what best to do? Glad we got there before the dogs did...

Some sort of tit - unless parents find it, survival is unlikely I think.

Anyone know if the story about 'handle a baby animal and the parents will smell you on it and reject it." is true?

Pop it in some cover as close to where it was as possible, if the parents find it they may well keep feeding it, if not, it will become food for something else's young.

No idea, wasn't aware of any nests nearby. It only had one eye open but seemed otherwise healthy. Clung to my fingers tightly
