Hi all.
Been lurking on the site for a couple of weeks and really enjoying what I've read so far.
I'm Sid from Worthing, West Sussex. I am a locksmith specialising in safes.
Been interested and practicing aspects of 'bushcraft' since the days of combat survival magazine probably back in the
1980's, still got my hard copy Survival book, Survival aids up in Euston or near by (IIRC) sold me the original Lofty Wiseman tool
(oh the weeks of torment deciding between that and the wilkinson sword...)
Had the great experience to attend an RAF survival course down at Dartmoor mid 90's and was out in the woods and
hills every chance I got. Also did a little training for the Scout troop in Sevenoaks about 15 years ago.
As time passed careers changed and I unfortunately disconnected from it all but retained almost all of my precious kit,
books, notes and good memories
Now I've settled in Worthing I have the South Downs and lots of new woodlands to explore so I want to get back out and
take up from where I left off.
Fantastic seeing John Fenna is still alive and well and still in the community. Never met him but hung on every word of every
review, still got loads of kit that he reviewed and its still in perfect (but very used!) working order
Looking to start of again by doing a tracking course, I've put the feelers out and had some good replies so hopefully it won't
be too long before I'm out getting back into a truly wonderful pastime.
Maybe meet some of you out there one day!
Cheers
Sid
