Radio 4 Tomorrow night 9:00pm David Attenborough hosts the Percy Edwards Showdown.
From a program guide,
This programme is both a documentary and a quiz show. Simultaneously. Percy Edwards Showdown is a warm and delightful profile of the man famous for his bird impressions, and the quiz is a very clever way of putting him in context. "The thing about impressions is that you have to know what is being impersonated," explains producer Julian May. "Percy made his living at a time when people were a little more in touch with nature than we are now, so he speaks as if everyone knows what a nuthatch sounds like. But we don't now, do we?" David Attenborough is the quizmaster and the contestants are all Edwards fans. Bill Oddie, Philippa Forrester, Mark Cocker and Alex Horne vie to identify the bird songs and to say if they're real or Percy. Plus archive interviews featuring the late Edwards himself, and Peter Sellers telling a quite beautiful tale about this most unusual man.
