In wilkinsons gardening section today and picked up the wilko folding saw for £2.99
just pruned next doors aldar tree which is hanging over my garden and took down the last of that elder thats earmarked for flute and whistle work ;)
hot knife through butter tbh, nice clean cuts each time with little effort.
see how it holds out but an excellent beginners saw and saves loosing a finger to a sharp hatchet! :D

For the last year or so I've used one of those, and swore by it (especially at that price).
However, yesterday I became a kit bitch and bought a laplander. I wouldn't have done, except a friend got a lap for Xmas and after I had a go with it I decided they really were as good as people say and so I treated myself since it was my birthday yesterday.
But those Wilko ones are good.

my last 2 wilko ones have snapped at the nut bit.... but i'm a cheap skate and bought em when they went 1/2 price. glued the bit of plastic that fell off back on with epoxy and its as good as new again.
