Has anyone used Camphor Laurel for woodcarving or knife making?Just found out that it is a useful and beautiful wood,

Here in Australia it is been declared a noxious weed so you sometimes see it been cut down in peoples backyard gardens.Has anyone used this wood for there project's?

I am going to try and save some for me if I see a tree been cut down.

Never heard of Camphor Laurel , I find there are a lot of different names for the same wood though , however I was looking at some wood at my supplier the other day it was called camphor it had a really nice smell like medicinal, I didnt get any as the grain didnt look to good but it seemed like a medium hard wood if its the same stuff I am sure it could be used for projects with good results
